About Me:
I was the head of the art department at Leroy Drive Primary Years School in Northglenn, Colorado since 2006. Prior to this, I worked as a long-term substitute art teacher at University Hill Elementary and Sage Elementary in Boulder, Colorado. I also taught at various summer camps and schools in New York, Ohio, West Virginia, and North Carolina.
In college, my primary areas of interest were oil and watercolor painting. I have also studied fiber arts (weaving, knitting, quilting & spinning wool), paper-making, batik, bookmaking, pottery, and stained glass.
I have been lucky to spend the last fourteen years at Leroy Drive Primary Years School. I developed and implemented an art program which introduced my students to a variety of mediums These experiences were designed to help them narrow their focus of interest in the arts as they progress through life. Recently, tablet computers were incorporated into the curriculum to help equip the children with the technological skills needed for success in today’s world.
In my free time my hobbies are hiking, swimming, biking, cross-country skiing, knitting, and dancing. My passions are my faith and being with family, friends, and my pets.
I retired in February 2020 to spend more time with my granddaughter. I am enjoying introducing art, music, and literature into her life.
